About The Position

Under the direction of the Line Facilitator and in compliance with QSR and safety requirements, performs necessary setups, repairs, preventive maintenance, and operates assigned manufacturing equipment. This role is responsible for producing high-quality products with predetermined outputs, optimizing machine performance, and troubleshooting equipment to minimize downtime. The Operator Mechanic I will also assist Maintenance Technicians when needed and coordinate/execute preventive maintenance on assigned equipment. This role requires reading diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturing specifications, as well as using machine interface software to control machines and document batch information. It involves dismantling equipment to access and remove defective parts using hand and power tools.

Requirements

  • A minimum of High School Diploma.
  • 2 years of experience in a regulated industry or professional experience.
  • Basic or advanced computer management skills.
  • Basic troubleshooting abilities.
  • Ability to lift and/or carry 50+ pounds with assistance or mechanically.
  • Availability to work overtime, various work schedules, which may include 1st, 2nd, 3rd shifts and/or 12-hour daily shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in electronic technology, Electronics, Industrial Mechanics or related technical field.
  • Bilingual (Spanish & English).

Responsibilities

  • Performs equipment set-up and changeover in a timely manner.
  • Produces different sizes and types of products of high quality and predetermined production outputs.
  • Performs suture and needles change over as required with a high degree of proficiency.
  • Optimizes machine performance by observing operating conditions; replenishes raw materials and removes product that has cycled through the machine.
  • Uses initiatives to assure efficient machine operations and high-quality standards.
  • Troubleshoots and performs corrective actions on assigned equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Assists Maintenance Technicians when a Maintenance Technician is required.
  • Coordinates and executes Preventive Maintenance to the assigned equipment.
  • Reads diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturing specifications related to assigned equipment.
  • Uses machine interface software to control machine and document batch information.
  • Dismantles equipment to gain access to and remove defective parts or material using hand tools and power tools when required.
