The University Safety Summer Worker will assist the University Safety Office with day-to-day tasks. This is a temporary student worker position for the 2026 Summer semester. The role involves assisting University Safety Officers in non-violent or non-confrontational circumstances, helping university staff, students, and visitors, completing door unlocks, handling ADA escorts, and conducting foot patrols of campus. The worker will also patrol the interior of buildings, noting discrepancies in fire equipment, electrical fixtures, appliances, and security issues. Observing and reporting violations of Florida State Statutes and University Regulations, regularly checking emergency blue light phones, and assisting with various university events such as Fall Family Festival, Spring Fling, sporting events, celebrations, and Commencement are also part of the duties. The position requires adherence to ethical standards, university policies, and state/federal laws, maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor, and displaying honesty and cooperation. SST members must be enrolled full-time as a junior or senior and maintain a semester cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
