About The Position
McFarland Construction is a full-service commercial construction firm specializing in general contracting, design/build, and construction management services. They deliver high-quality projects across various markets including Financial Services, Health Sciences, Energy, Mission Critical, and the Public Sector. The company, founded in 2010, is headquartered in Charlotte, NC, with regional offices in Raleigh, NC and Indianapolis, IN. This 10-week structured internship program offers work experience in Environmental Health and Safety, providing mentorship and an opportunity to gain knowledge in various construction processes. It is designed for aspiring individuals to explore a career path in construction, develop new skills, build professional relationships, and gain confidence while being compensated.
Requirements
- Juniors, or Seniors currently enrolled at a four-year institution
- Majoring in Safety, Engineering, and Construction Management
- Proactive, open-minded, eager to learn, and willing to work hard as part of a team
- 10-week Summer Commitment with McFarland Construction
- Flexibility in job responsibilities
- Excellent Oral and Written Communication
- Valid Driver's License
- Authorized to Work in U.S
Responsibilities
- Gain knowledge of Safety Processes and Procedures
- Gain knowledge of Inspection Processes
- Gain knowledge of Scope of Projects
- Gain knowledge of RFI/Submittals Processes
- Gain knowledge of Closeout Procedures
