About The Position

This position supports institutional marketing initiatives within Ball State University’s central Office of Marketing and Communications. The Marketing Strategy team leads and stewards the university’s brand development, institutional marketing strategy, and lead generation efforts, working in partnership with campus units to advance enrollment, reputation, and engagement goals. As part of this team, the University Marketing Advisor contributes to the execution of marketing initiatives that reflect and reinforce the university’s strategic direction. The role works within a team-based structure to coordinate projects, support campaign execution, and collaborate with internal partners to ensure alignment with institutional priorities and brand standards. This is an opportunity to contribute to a team that leads with strategy, executes with precision, and takes pride in advancing Ball State’s story in meaningful ways. Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree by date of employment.
  • 2–5 years of experience in marketing, communications, public relations, or project coordination OR completion of a graduate assistantship, internship, or advanced academic training in a related field with demonstrated project experience.
  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and execute marketing and communications projects across the division and with campus partners, from intake through completion.
  • Collaborate with Senior Marketing Advisors to support strategic initiatives and project execution.
  • Translate project direction into clear, actionable steps for internal creative and communications teams.
  • Support structured client intake, project briefing, and workflow processes.
  • Maintain clear, timely, and professional communication with campus partners and internal team members.
  • Ensure all work aligns with Ball State brand standards and institutional priorities.
  • Track project progress and follow through on assigned deliverables.
  • Contribute to a collaborative, team-oriented work environment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
