About The Position

Grand Canyon Education (GCE) is seeking a motivated University Admissions Counselor to oversee the Phoenix, AZ territory in a unique remote (work from home in Phoenix, AZ) opportunity. This role involves helping prospective students and their families navigate the admissions process for Grand Canyon University's Traditional Ground Campus. The position requires building awareness of academic programs, driving inquiry generation, and providing exceptional counseling through various communication channels. Counselors will engage with community college students, faculty, and staff, and maintain a full schedule of events, fairs, school visits, presentations, and campus visits. The role emphasizes independent work, critical thinking, and supporting students towards a successful campus experience.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree.
  • No delinquent or in default on a federal student loan as verified in your credit report. If in a rehabilitation program, your credit report must reflect that you are current, not delinquent, on your payments.
  • Outstanding time management and organization skills.
  • Clear communication and engaging presentation skills.
  • Well-developed listening skills.
  • Self-motivation and drive to succeed.
  • High emotional intelligence and ability to demonstrate empathy.
  • A valid driver's license, reliable transportation, a flexible schedule and is willing to travel.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Host and implement event/activity plans for your territory that build awareness of academic programs and campus community and drive inquiry generation.
  • Provide exceptional counseling to prospective students and their families through a variety of mediums (in-person, phone, email, text, Zoom).
  • Champion the GCE mission, promoting Grand Canyon University student success and institutional growth.
  • Connect with community college students, faculty, and staff in local community colleges and engage all major stakeholders in your territory.
  • Maintain a full schedule that includes fairs, school visits, presentations, community/campus events and hosting campus visits.
  • Support prospective Grand Canyon University campus students and families through the admissions process, guiding them on the right path towards a successful campus experience.
  • Travel extensively within your territory, including potential travel to Phoenix 1-3 times per month for those residing outside of Phoenix.
  • Be available for some evening and/or weekend events.
