About The Position

The Universal Loan Processor supports the lending process by reviewing loan documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established guidelines and procedures. This position processes loan maintenance activities, calculates payoffs, maintains accurate loan records, and provides timely support to branch employees for consumer and business loans. The role requires strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to identify and resolve documentation or processing issues while working collaboratively with the Central Loan Processing team.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One to three years of experience in consumer or business lending, loan processing, or a related financial services role preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to accurately review and process detailed information while meeting established deadlines.
  • Proficiency with personal computers and 10-key calculators.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to learn and effectively use lending and core processing systems.
  • Knowledge of consumer and business loan documentation, forms, and established processing procedures.
  • Ability to accurately interpret and apply loan processing guidelines and procedures.
  • Ability to identify documentation discrepancies and take appropriate action to resolve them.
  • Maintains accurate, complete, and organized loan files and records.
  • Effectively manages multiple assignments, priorities, and deadlines.
  • Demonstrates a high level of accuracy when reviewing and processing detailed information and financial transactions.
  • Communicates clearly and professionally with branch employees, members, co-workers, and other stakeholders.
  • Provides responsive and helpful support to branches and department team members.
  • Uses sound judgment when determining when to resolve an issue independently or seek additional guidance.
  • Dependable in completing assigned responsibilities and meeting established deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Review assigned consumer and business loans for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established lending guidelines, procedures, and documentation requirements.
  • Identify missing, incomplete, or inaccurate documentation and follow up with the appropriate parties to obtain corrections or additional information.
  • Review loan forms and supporting documentation to ensure information is consistent and properly completed.
  • Apply established procedures and directives when reviewing and processing loan documentation.
  • Escalate documentation or processing issues when additional guidance or approval is needed.
  • Process consumer and business loan maintenance requests in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
  • Process paid loans, including releasing security interests as appropriate.
  • Calculate and provide accurate loan payoff amounts.
  • Maintain accurate loan information and documentation in applicable systems.
  • Maintain organized, complete, and accurate loan files in accordance with established procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Process assigned weekly and monthly reports and complete necessary follow-up.
  • Identify and address documentation or processing issues to help maintain accurate loan records.
  • Serve as the Central Loan Processing (CLP) representative for assigned branches and provide timely support for loan processing and maintenance needs.
  • Respond to phone calls and inquiries professionally and direct questions to the appropriate resource when needed.
  • Provide backup support to other Universal Loan Processors to help maintain department workflow and service levels.
  • Work collaboratively with the CLP Manager and team members to complete department responsibilities and special projects as assigned.
