About The Position

The Universal Banker performs teller duties, opens new accounts, and assists with bank service referrals. The role builds customer relationships and promotes the bank’s products and services in person and by phone. It also supports branch operations, customer service, operational controls, and ongoing knowledge of bank products and services.

The position is scheduled for 40 hours per week, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The company may change the schedule to meet business needs. The role is eligible for the Community Banking Incentive Plan.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of cash handling experience.

Nice To Haves

• Two-year college or technical degree, equivalent, or higher.
• At least 1 year of banking experience.

Responsibilities

• Process deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, and other teller transactions in person, at the drive-up, or over the phone.
• Greet customers, assist with banking needs and questions, and represent the bank professionally and courteously.
• Assist with branch tasks, including balancing cash drawers, vaults, and ATMs.
• Collaborate with bank departments and branch team members to assist customers and solve problems.
• Complete online compliance courses and attend required training.
• Respond quickly and accurately to customer and non-customer inquiries.
• Cross-sell bank and non-bank products and services through in-person sales and outbound calls.
• Open new deposit accounts in accordance with bank policies and procedures.
• Service and maintain consumer, business, HSA, and IRA accounts.
• Review and verify teller and other operational quality controls within the branch.
• Ensure accuracy in General Ledger, logs, and CTRs, and complete monthly operational reports and audits.
• Represent the bank professionally at community events.
• Maintain knowledge of the bank’s products, services, and operating environment.
• Complete online and in-person training and attend seminars and bank meetings as required.
