About The Position

This is a Floating Universal Banker I role requiring travel to various Illinois locations, excluding locations within the city of Chicago. A 10% float stipend is included. The position provides prompt, efficient, and friendly service to customers and employees, identifies customer needs, and recommends appropriate bank products and services. The banker performs tasks accurately and efficiently in compliance with bank policies and procedures. The role calls for an outgoing, sales-oriented, flexible, adaptable, and results-driven person who can work independently and as part of a team, make sound decisions, and apply critical-thinking skills.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least six months of customer service or cash-handling experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
• A smartphone (iOS or Android) capable of supporting security features required by the Bank’s IT security guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Process teller-line transactions, including accepting deposits and loan payments, verifying cash and endorsements, cashing checks, and issuing official checks; may also provide overrides and approvals.
• Count and balance the cash drawer daily and take proactive steps to identify and resolve discrepancies.
• Follow BSA/AML/OFAC policies and procedures and report suspicious activity.
• Maintain integrity and keep bank business and information confidential.
• Engage customers to understand their needs and make appropriate product and service recommendations.
• Assist customers with routine questions and account maintenance requests.
• Progress toward proficiency in processing vault transactions, including balancing and other required daily transactions.
• Progress toward proficiency in opening and closing the banking center, including end-of-day processing.
• Learn and perform required teller-line operational activities.
• Understand the bank’s security system and assist in testing alarms.
• Assist in completing required reports.
• Apply sound decision-making; experience and knowledge may lead to higher limits and authority.
