About The Position

Midwest BankCentre is seeking a Universal Banker to join their team. This role is focused on engaging with customers, assisting the branch team in achieving goals, and providing excellent customer service. The position requires flexibility to accommodate staffing needs, the ability to work independently, and adherence to policies and procedures. The Universal Banker will promote products and services, support digital banking solutions, process teller transactions, handle inbound and outbound calls, make referrals to business partners, and understand federal banking regulations. Requirements

  • High School Diploma (or equivalent) is required
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and engage clients effectively
  • Technologically savvy with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems and software
  • Problem-solving mindset and the ability to think critically under pressure
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently, as well as collaborate effectively within a team environment
  • Flexibility to work some weekends and evenings, as per business needs
  • Willing and able to travel to other locations/branches
  • Willing and able to work required overtime

Nice To Haves

  • Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred
  • A minimum of two years bank customer contact or retail sales experience preferred
  • Commercial credit experience

Responsibilities

  • Engage with customers and establish rapport that encourages further engagement
  • Assist team in achieving branch goals
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Remain flexible to accommodate branch staffing needs
  • Work independently and manage their time
  • Follow policies and procedures, maintain accuracy
  • Follow through on daily, weekly and monthly tasks
  • Contribute to branch meetings and culture
  • Promote products and services based on customer's needs, including account opening and maintenance, and consumer loan applications and closings
  • Support and promote digital banking solutions
  • Assist customers with processing teller transactions, resolving complaints, and maintaining/balancing cash drawers
  • Handle inbound and outbound calls proactively to build relationships and identify opportunities
  • Refer customers to business partners for additional financial needs
  • Meet quarterly banker minimum standards and participate in sales, service, and product training
  • Gain knowledge of and adhere to BSA, USA Patriot Act, AML, and Notary Public regulations
  • Maintain awareness of and adherence to Bank’s compliance requirements and risk management concepts, policies, and procedures
