About The Position
The Universal Banker is an entry-level position responsible for assisting with sales, product, and service activities in coordination with the customer service team. The overall objective is to foster customer relationships, build loyalty, and help increase sales to individual consumer clients. This is a part-time role at the Encinitas branch, scheduled for 20 hours. The job description provides a high-level overview of the work performed; other job-related duties may be assigned as required.
Requirements
- 1–3 years of relevant experience.
- Previous retail banking or similar experience required.
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Responsibilities
- Assist with basic account opening for existing customers.
- Provide service to internal and external customers to resolve account service issues.
- Execute financial transactions in accordance with bank policies and procedures.
- Refer opportunities to segment partners where appropriate.
- Create sales opportunities from service transactions and resolve customer complaints or issues promptly and effectively.
- Support branch sales and service activities by participating in seminars, micromarketing events, promotional campaigns, and product initiatives.
- Adhere to operational controls, including legal, corporate, and regulatory procedures, to ensure the safety and security of customer and bank assets.
- Assess risk appropriately in business decisions, consider the firm's reputation and safeguard Citi, its clients, and assets; comply with applicable laws, rules, regulations, and policy; apply sound ethical judgment; and transparently escalate, manage, and report control issues.
