About The Position

Amentum is seeking a Unit Trainer, Maintenance in Las Vegas, NV. This role provides maintenance training and maintains training records/documents on the unit’s aircraft mechanics. The Unit Trainer is a qualified aircraft mechanic responsible for conducting training, coordinating training from outside vendors, and maintaining training records for personnel in the work unit. Core duties include on-the-job training for new mechanics, conducting annual refresher training (e.g., engine run and taxi qualification, de-icing, flight line driving, health safety, and environmental training), and coordinating/scheduling vendor training. The incumbent must also ensure strict adherence to company policies and procedures and may perform flight attendant duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant license.
  • High school education or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years mechanic or Inspector experience on jet aircraft operated by the Company.
  • Attain engine run and taxi qualification on all aircraft types assigned.
  • Qualify for RII items listed in the company General Maintenance Manual deemed necessary by the Chief Inspector.
  • Be required to qualify for and be granted a Government security clearance and associated work location access.
  • Possess a current state issued driver’s license.
  • US Citizenship is required to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret US Government Clearance.
  • Applicants selected either must currently possess a Secret clearance or will be subject to a US Government Security Investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to obtain clearance prior to commencement of employment and maintain a security clearance for access to classified information or Closed/Restricted Areas throughout duration of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide maintenance training on the unit’s aircraft mechanics.
  • Maintain training records/documents for personnel in the work unit.
  • Perform on the job training for newly hired mechanics.
  • Conduct annual refresher training, including engine run and taxi qualification, de-icing training, flight line driving, and health safety and environmental training.
  • Coordinate and schedule training for and from vendors.
  • Ensure company policies and procedures are strictly adhered to.
  • Perform flight attendant duties as needed.
  • Continuously develop and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Complete all training requirements and fulfill self-aid/buddy aid responsibilities.
  • Participate in emergency response tasks and serve on safety committees and teams.
  • Conform to the Amentum Quality Policy and carry out job activities in compliance with applicable Amentum Quality System documents and customer contracts.
  • Read and understand Quality Management and Customer Satisfaction responsibilities.
  • Read, understand and implement general and specific operational, safety, quality and environmental requirements of all plans, procedures and policies pertaining to the job.
