About The Position

Amentum is seeking a Unit Trainer, Maintenance in Las Vegas, NV. This role provides maintenance training and maintains training records/documents on the unit’s aircraft mechanics. The Unit Trainer is a qualified aircraft mechanic with the additional responsibilities of conducting training, coordinating training from outside vendors, and maintaining the training records for personnel in the work unit. The incumbent's core duties are to perform on the job training for newly hired mechanics, conduct annual refresher training to include, but not limited to, engine run and taxi qualification, de-icing training, flight line driving and health safety and environmental training as required, and coordinate and schedule training for and from vendors. In addition, the incumbent must also ensure company policies and procedures are strictly adhered to. Performs flight attendant duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant license.
  • High school education or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years mechanic or Inspector experience on jet aircraft operated by the Company.
  • Attain engine run and taxi qualification on all aircraft types assigned.
  • Qualify for RII items listed in the company General Maintenance Manual deemed necessary by the Chief Inspector.
  • Qualify for and be granted a Government security clearance and associated work location access.
  • Possess a current state issued driver’s license.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret US Government Clearance.
  • US Citizenship is required to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance.
  • Applicants selected either must currently possess a Secret clearance or will be subject to a US Government Security Investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to obtain clearance prior to commencement of employment and maintain a security clearance for access to classified information or Closed/Restricted Areas throughout duration of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct maintenance training and maintain training records/documents on the unit’s aircraft mechanics.

  • Continuously developing and maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Completing all training requirements and fulfilling all self-aid/buddy aid responsibilities.
  • Participating in emergency response tasks and serving on safety committees and teams.
  • Conform to the Amentum Quality Policy and carry out job activities in compliance with applicable Amentum Quality System documents and customer contracts.
  • Read and understand his/her Quality Management and Customer Satisfaction responsibilities.
  • Read, understand and implement the general and specific operational, safety, quality and environmental requirements of all plans, procedures and policies pertaining to his/her job.
