Our Values Respect | Belonging | Accountability | Transparency Department DH UROLOGY SPEC CLINIC PAV L Job Summary Under minimal supervision, the Nursing Unit Supervisor performs managerial and leadership functions over professional nursing and support care team in various healthcare consumer care settings. Is able to take patient assignments and manage the department. Applies critical thinking, evidence-based policies, procedures, guidelines and competence to collaborate with the health care team to promote excellence in healthcare consumer safety and quality outcomes and independently works with the manager to maintain departmental goals and initiatives. Adheres to the American Nurses Association (ANA) standards of professional nursing practice / process and performance, and the ANA Code of Ethics (2015) Utilize and support the Theory of Human Caring and Caritas as a part of his or her daily practice. Requirements

  • Associate's Degree Required
  • 1-3 years of professional nursing experience. Required
  • BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) - AHA - American Heart Association or American Red Cross Required
  • RN-Registered Nurse - DORA - Department of Regulatory Agencies Required
  • Proven knowledge of call center technology for an inbound and outbound call center
  • Strong interpersonal skills that demonstrates successful customer and client relationships
  • Strong leadership skills
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient with MS Office suiter keyboard skills (able to type 35 words per minute)

Responsibilities

  • Provides supervision of staff on an assigned shift.
  • Provides orientation of new hires
  • Departmental operations
  • Assists with development of staff schedule.
  • Accepts constructive peer input.
  • Actively solicits constructive feedback regarding performance.
  • Assumes accountability and responsibility for working towards and achieving goals set forth by the manager, educator, preceptor and themselves for the next evaluation period.
  • Provides peer feedback as requested.
  • Interacts with colleagues and the public in a manner consistent with the standards set forth in “Excellence in Service”, and with the mission of the agency.
  • Shares information with others.
  • Assists in promoting and maintaining a positive attitude toward the unit and institution.
  • Is an active participant in all mandatory in-services, staff meetings, and annual skills review including safety, infection control, disaster, fire and CPR.
  • Recognizes self-learning needs and plans to meet them.
  • Incorporates new knowledge obtained into practice.
  • Serves as a resource for other staff on clinical and administrative issues.
  • Provides department coverage, as needed, during periods of high volume, staff shortages, and emergencies and as regularly scheduled.
  • Demonstrates support and compliance with center wide policies and procedures.
  • Support and implementation of organizational initiatives and strategic planning
