About The Position

Central California Rehabilitation Hospital is seeking a full-time Unit Secretary in Bakersfield, California. The hospital provides inpatient rehabilitation for people recovering from strokes, brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, amputations, and complex orthopedic conditions. The Unit Secretary performs receptionist duties and assists with clerical work on the patient unit, incorporating the hospital’s mission and Guiding Principles into daily practice. The stated hourly pay range is $23.00 to $27.49.

Requirements

• One year of clerical or administrative assistant experience preferred.
• Two years of experience in a health care setting preferred.
• Demonstrated general computer skills, including data entry, word processing, email, and record management.
• Effective organizational and time management skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• High-level interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain quality and safety standards.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to work closely and professionally with others.
• Ability to maneuver within a medical record.
• Ability to work on issues of a sensitive nature.

Nice To Haves

• One year of clerical or administrative assistant experience.
• Two years of experience in a health care setting.
• EKG certification for positions that include telemetry functions.
