About The Position

SSM Health Rehabilitation Hospital, a joint venture with Select Medical and SSM Health, is seeking a Unit Secretary for its inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Bridgeton, Missouri. The hospital cares for individuals facing medical, physical, emotional, and vocational challenges related to brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, neurological disorders, orthopedic issues, amputation, and multiple traumas. This is a PRN position with rotating 12-hour shifts, either 7:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m. or 8:00 a.m.–8:30 p.m., for 1–2 shifts per week. The listed PRN rate is $20.50 per hour.

The Unit Secretary organizes clerical functions for the nursing unit, maintains clear communication and records, and promptly relays pertinent patient information to nursing staff or the charge nurse. Requirements

• Proficient computer skills required.
• At least one year of clerical experience is specified; the posting describes experience in a medical setting as preferred and also says it is required.

Responsibilities

• Organizes clerical functions of the nursing unit.
• Communicates clearly.
• Maintains records, logs, and patient information.
• Notifies nursing staff and/or the charge nurse in a timely manner about pertinent patient information, including physician orders, laboratory or test results, and communications from other departments.
