About The Position

Henrico Doctors' Hospital is seeking a Unit Secretary for its Labor Delivery unit. The Unit Secretary helps deliver exceptional care by maintaining a welcoming, organized environment where patients and families feel valued and informed. The role relies on clear, compassionate communication and attention to detail to keep the unit running smoothly and support patients, visitors, and the care team.

Requirements

• Strong customer service skills and excellent English communication skills.
• Familiarity with medical terminology.
• Computer literacy, including the ability to use programs such as Meditech, Word, and Excel.
• Ability to perform work requiring frequent standing, bending, reaching, and some lifting.

• Previous experience as a Unit Secretary in a hospital setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and guide patients and visitors with warmth and professionalism, provide updates, and help them feel informed and supported.
• Maintain patient records accurately, enter physician orders, and protect patient information.
• Handle communications between incoming callers and care team members promptly and clearly.
• Keep the environment clean, organized, and well-stocked to promote safety and comfort.
• Take initiative to solve challenges, support daily operations, and foster respect and teamwork.
