Performs unit clerical and supportive tasks which assist Unit Programming, patients, and unit management. Organizes and coordinates the flow of information, records, and reports consistent with hospital and unit policy. Greets patients, visitors, and personnel arriving on unit and providing them with information appropriate to individual requests. Maintains and facilitates communication, including knowing patient location, distributing correspondence, communicating in emergency situations, maintaining bulletin boards, answering phones, and facilitating Multidisciplinary Treatment Planning sessions. Ensures medical records have appropriate supplies, initiates, assembles, and maintains patient records, prepares patient records for transfer and discharge, and safeguards patient confidentiality. Daily reviews medical records for proper order and participates in audits. Scans necessary documents into the electronic health record. Participates in Unit Maintenance Activities, interacts with patients as appropriate, meets with Nurse Manager, maintains supply inventory, acts professionally, demonstrates responsibility through attendance and punctuality, and participates in performance evaluations. Performs typing, filing, scanning, and other clerical duties as requested by Supervisor.
