About The Position

This position will be responsible for assuring that all Dynacraft standards are maintained throughout all operations. Unit Managers are tasked with upholding and encouraging PACCAR and Dynacraft values and mission and assuring that all Dynacraft standards are maintained throughout all operations. These include but are not limited to Safety, Quality, Efficiency, Process and Procedural standards. This role is based in Louisville, Kentucky, for the evening shift.

Requirements

  • Ability to supervise, make decisions, and use independent judgment and/or action.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive materials and issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong PC skills, including proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • A minimum of three-years production/distribution supervisory experience is required.
  • Candidate must have the flexibility to work 2nd shift.

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of Six Sigma Minitab software is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assure that all Dynacraft standards are maintained throughout all operations. These include but are not limited to Safety, Quality, Efficiency, Process and Procedural standards.
  • Document safety incident investigations including root cause analysis and follow-up actions.
  • Play an active role in promoting positive employee relations and engagement.
  • Participate in projects related to recruitment, training, and leadership development.
  • Benchmark other PACCAR locations and non-PACCAR locations for best practices.
  • Participate in developing and executing departmental goals and objectives.
  • Spend at least 25% of time on the floor in areas under responsibility, assisting team leaders with issues resolution and working on continuous improvement projects.
  • Participate in special assignments; Six Sigma/continuous improvement activities, PACCAR-wide initiatives and other projects.
  • Supervise hourly team members engaged in the activities of the production and/or distribution departments.
  • Complete root cause analysis documentation for quality related issues.
  • Complete process/product audits.
  • Logistically manage the deployment of shop floor team members.
  • Assign duties in accordance with established schedules and customer requirements.
  • Provide MDC Plant management with timely information regarding changes in assigned workloads or staffing requirements.
  • Train and evaluate performance of department team members; provide regular feedback; prepare employee evaluations; recommend disciplinary action as may be appropriate.
  • Conduct daily communication meetings with team members.
  • Assure correct and timely processing and documentation of transactions and work orders.
  • Provide order status and significant events in daily shift tie-in as required.
  • Communicate with other departments as required on plant related issues and follow-up tasks.
  • Recognize team members for outstanding performance.
