About The Position

Located in the central San Joaquin Valley, Adventist Health Selma has been serving the Central Valley since 1999. We are comprised of a 57-bed acute care hospital and six local medical offices. Selma is rapidly growing with nearly 25,000 residents offering a great cost of living and close-knit communities. Residents enjoy shopping and dining opportunities, museums, historic sites and churches, all within a family-friendly atmosphere. The Unit Associate greets and directs visitors. They prepare and maintain medical records, respond to patient requests for assistance, provide information to patients, families, and physicians, and provide other clerical support to the nursing team as required.

Requirements

• AHA-BLS or ARC-BLS certification

Nice To Haves

• High School Education/GED or equivalent
• Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience
• One year's relevant experience
• Hospital or medical office experience
• Unit Secretary training course
• Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) Health Care Provider certification from approved vendor per AH policy

Responsibilities

• Processes orders and assists unit visitors and callers.
• Ascertains flow of patients admission/transfers.
• Assists in scheduling patient procedures and assembling patient charts.
• Performs data collection and maintains data on an ongoing basis.
• Participates in regulatory environmental compliance duties, clearing hallways and calling for equipment/pick-up as needed.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
