About The Position

The Unit Manager provides 24-hour operational management of the Adult Unit. The role manages expense budgets for assigned clinical programs and maintains a clinical environment and staffing strategy that supports maintaining or exceeding budgeted census. The Unit Manager responds to changes in patient acuity, census, and program needs, making appropriate adjustments to support a safe, therapeutic environment of care and meet internal and external requirements.

The position uses clinical expertise in direct patient care, consultation, staff development, and treatment planning. It also participates in marketing activities and promotes team-building, quality improvement, and strong customer relations. The Unit Manager supervises nursing, social work, rehabilitation services, and support staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing program and at least 2 years of progressively more responsible inpatient psychiatric nursing experience; alternatively, a diploma nursing program and at least 4 years of progressively more responsible inpatient psychiatric nursing experience may be considered.
• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Maryland.
