Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Previous experience in food service, hospitality, or healthcare required.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to follow dietary guidelines and hospital protocols.
  • Comfortable standing and walking for extended periods and lifting up to 30 lbs.
  • Reliable transportation and consistent attendance.
  • Ability to lead in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Basic understanding of hygiene, food safety, and infection control practices.
  • Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • ServSafe® Certification and State Food Handlers Card
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily patient meal service operations to ensure timely, accurate delivery.
  • Lead, coach, and support Unit Hosts and patient services team members.
  • Coordinate staffing assignments, workflow, and shift coverage.
  • Communicate with cooks, clinical staff, and nursing teams regarding patient needs and service updates.
  • Oversee tray accuracy, ensuring all meals meet dietary restrictions and physician orders.
  • Provide friendly, professional customer service to patients, families, and staff.
  • Address and resolve service issues, escalating concerns as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout all service areas.
  • Ensure adherence to food safety, infection control, and hospital protocols at all times.
  • Monitor team performance and provide feedback, coaching, and support.
  • Assist with training new team members and reinforcing best practices.
  • Support inventory, stocking, and organization of unit kitchen areas.
  • Document service issues, patient feedback, and operational notes as required.
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned by the manager.
