About The Position

The Unit Coordinator will assist with maintaining a safe and hazard-free environment by observing and documenting patient behavior, conducting patient room searches, reporting unsafe conditions, and applying appropriate emotional and physical support. The role will perform or assist with the admission of new patients by gathering routine information for nursing assessment, searching patients and belongings for contraband, and documenting belongings and other appropriate information. The Unit Coordinator also orients the patient and patient's family to the facility and its policies and procedures, and assists with leading daily unit-based groups. This position will float as needed to other units based on needs to include crisis stabilization, acute inpatient adult, and acute inpatient adolescent programs. Three Rivers Behavioral Health is a 136-bed treatment facility that specializes in quality behavioral health and substance abuse services for adolescents and adults. We offer a full continuum of care through an integrated system of inpatient, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient programs. Progressive professionals in the fields of psychiatry, medicine, nursing, social services, and activity therapy serve hundreds of adults and adolescents each month with the common goal of creating new beginnings.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • MHT at Three Rivers Behavioral for six (6) months preferred
  • External candidates must have one (1) year behavioral health experience and experience in a unit clerk type role.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with maintaining a safe and hazard free environment by observing and documenting patient behavior, conducting patient room searches, reporting unsafe conditions and applying appropriate emotional and physical support.
  • Performs or assist with the admission of new patients by gathering routine information for nursing assessment, searches patients and belongings for contraband, documents belongings and other appropriate information.
  • Orients the patient and patient's family to the facility and the policies and procedures.
  • Assists with leading daily unit based groups.
  • Utilize patient activity schedule, unit rules and group structure to maintain consistency in the milieu.
  • Provides clerical and reception duties in support of the department at the nurses station and ensures patient program schedule is carried out as planned.
  • Assist with the duties of an MHT as necessary.
