About The Position

Merakey is seeking a Direct Support Professional Specialized to join its team in Cresson, Pennsylvania. The role supports and enhances the quality of life of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), using counseling, mentoring, coaching, modeling, and other trained strategies to help them reach their potential. The position supports individuals with IDD who may also have signs and symptoms of serious mental illness, autism, or medical conditions that could contribute to behavior.

Requirements

• Verifiable high school diploma or GED.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• 1–3 years of experience working with people with developmental disabilities and/or co-occurring mental health issues.
• Complete NADD DSP certification training during the first year of employment for continued employment in the program.
