About The Position

Merakey is seeking a Direct Support Professional Specialized/Dual Diagnosis to support and enhance the quality of life of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). The role uses counseling, mentoring, coaching, modeling, and other trained strategies to help individuals reach their highest potential. Individuals supported may have IDD, signs and symptoms of serious mental illness, autism, and/or medical conditions that may underlie behaviors. The position is based at Merakey’s program in Cresson, Pennsylvania. The enhanced pay option is $22.26 per hour.

Requirements

• Verifiable high school diploma or GED.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• 1–3 years of experience working with people with developmental disabilities and/or co-occurring mental health issues.
• Must complete NADD DSP certification training during the first year of employment for continued employment in this program.
