About The Position

The Unit Associate provides support services and helps maintain cleanliness and orderliness, ensuring a clean and hygienic environment for guests, patients, or occupants. The position does not require patient care. It is onsite at The Brigham and Women's Hospital, Inc., at 70 Francis Street, and is scheduled for 40 hours per week, from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM. Every other weekend is required, with the Friday before and Tuesday after the scheduled weekend off.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Customer service experience of 1–2 years preferred or housekeeping experience of 0–1 year preferred.
Familiarity with different cleaning techniques, equipment, and products.
Strong attention to detail to ensure thorough cleaning and maintenance of assigned areas.
Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
Customer service skills to support guest and patient satisfaction.
Ability to follow instructions and work well with others.
Trustworthiness and a strong work ethic, including the ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive information.

Nice To Haves

Customer service experience of 1–2 years.
Housekeeping experience of 0–1 year.

Responsibilities

Perform routine cleaning, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and disinfecting surfaces.
Handle linen supplies by changing bed linens, replenishing towels and toiletries, and collecting and sorting soiled linens for laundry services.
Dispose of trash, recyclables, and hazardous materials according to established procedures and regulations.
Monitor and restock toiletries, towels, cleaning products, and other supplies and amenities.
Maintain accurate records of cleaning activities, room occupancy status, maintenance requests, and other relevant information.
Follow safety protocols, including using personal protective equipment and properly handling and storing cleaning chemicals.
