Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1st Class Refrigeration Operators License required
  • High-Pressure Boiler Operators or Stationary Engineers License required
  • CFC Universal certification required
  • 8+ years facility maintenance experience including boiler and chiller maintenance (verifiable experience required)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and CMMS systems (Maximo)
  • Ability to safely operate portable hand and power tools
  • Experience with water tube/fire tube boilers, chilled water systems, and building automation systems
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems, steam traps, control valves, piping systems, and PLC troubleshooting
  • Understanding of cooling tower chemistry, water treatment, and compressed air systems
  • Experience with vibration analysis and predictive/preventative maintenance techniques
  • Ability to monitor building automation systems and utility/piping systems
  • Strong attention to detail for data logging and equipment monitoring
  • Problem-solving capabilities for equipment diagnosis and repair
  • Ability to work independently and respond to equipment emergencies
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Master level boiler or refrigeration licenses and advanced building automation certifications
  • Experience with manufacturing process equipment and predictive maintenance technologies
  • Knowledge of energy management, optimization programs, and specialized refrigeration systems
  • Additional trade certifications (welding, pipefitting, electrical)

Responsibilities

  • Operate water tube and fire tube boilers, chilled water systems, sub-freezing chillers, cooling towers, and air compressors.
  • Manage cooling tower and boiler water chemical treatment programs.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical systems including steam traps, DDC control valves, air actuators, and piping systems.
  • Troubleshoot PLC panels and perform vibration analysis.
  • Conduct digital equipment rounds, plant meter readings, and logbook data entries.
  • Create and complete Maximo work orders for PM, CM, and EM tasks with spare parts inventory tracking.
  • Generate compressed air leak reports and equipment trending analysis.
  • Maintain environmental PM completion and reporting.
  • Maintain safety training compliance and complete safety PM/repair tasks.
  • Participate in employee safety concern process and utilize pre-task planning methods.
  • Create and audit task instruction sheets and ensure collective bargaining agreement compliance.
  • Perform general housekeeping and maintain forklift/aerial lift operators' licenses.
  • Manage Workday check-in/check-out and PTO/vacation requests.
  • Engage in daily email communication and GM Slack app correspondence.
  • Participate in GMS BPD board activities and complete scheduled training.
