About The Position

This is an internal-only position for a Unified Sports Student Assistant Paraeducator. The role involves assisting students in accessing and participating in the unified sports program, facilitating social interaction, and supporting the coach during practices and games. The position requires guiding students through warm-ups, drills, and fitness programs, and monitoring them during all activities.

Requirements

• High School Diploma
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions.
• Good communication skills.
• Knowledge of medical conditions including seizure care or willing to learn.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with students with special needs is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist students in accessing the unified sports program both during practices and games.
• Help students put equipment on in the locker room before practice and remove/store equipment after practices.
• Facilitate participation within the unified sports program.
• Facilitate social interaction within a unified sports program with peers and coaches.
• Works under the direction of the unified sports coach.
• Guide students through warm up activities and drills.
• Guide student in fitness and weight training program.
• Keep students involved in the practice activities.
• Monitor students during games, both home and away.
