About The Position

The Underwriting Research Intern works with a hiring manager, mentor, and team to complete work that supports Northwestern Mutual. The role assists with ad hoc underwriting research by applying data analytics skills and tools such as Excel, SQL, and SAS to uncover insights in data. The internship provides hands-on experience and exposure to real-world business perspectives, alongside professional development workshops, senior leadership Q&As, volunteer initiatives, and networking and social events.

This is a full-time, onsite internship in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, running from June 2027 through August 2027. Candidates must be local to Milwaukee for the duration of the program. Internship compensation is based on academic tenure and major, with a stated range of $16.50 to $30.00.

Requirements

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in data analytics from an accredited college or university.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Previous work or classroom experience in accounting or auditing.
• Must be local to Milwaukee during the internship program.
• Employer immigration sponsorship is not available for this role.
