About The Position

This summer 2027 internship is for talented college students looking to gain experience in the insurance industry, particularly in agricultural underwriting. The program follows an 80/10/10 approach: 80% on meaningful work and projects, 10% on learning from and networking with employees in other areas, and 10% on shared internship experiences providing insight into the company's culture, leadership, and business operations. It offers entry-level underwriting and insurance experience, along with general corporate real-world exposure.

Requirements

Be a current college student.
Be a quick learner who is looking to learn new concepts and ideas.
Be able to learn basic understanding of property insurance policies.
Strong computer skills are required to quickly learn our multiple systems.
Effective communicator.
Have excellent customer service skills.
Be team focused.
Must be detail oriented.
Must be willing to ask questions.
Currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time, permanent basis.

Nice To Haves

Agriculture related experience.
Go-getter with high initiative.
Positive attitude.
Agricultural, business or insurance major preferred.
Familiarity with Outlook, Microsoft Word and Excel is preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist the Ag Underwriting team by reviewing current Ag policies.
Prepare underwriting reports.
Complete policy review tasks.
Update underwriting documents.
Assist with other projects as needed.
Participate in corporate activities designed to provide exposure to the industry, organization, and culture.
Spend 80% of time performing meaningful work and project-based assignments within the department.
Spend 10% of time learning from and networking with employees in other areas of the organization.
Spend 10% of time participating in shared internship experiences that provide insight into the company's culture, leadership, and business operations.
