About The Position

This summer 2027 internship is designed for talented college students looking to gain experience in the insurance industry, particularly in agricultural underwriting. The program follows an 80/10/10 approach, dedicating 80% to meaningful work and project-based assignments, 10% to learning and networking across departments, and 10% to shared internship experiences that offer insight into the company's culture, leadership, and business operations. It provides an excellent opportunity for entry-level underwriting and insurance experience, along with general corporate real-world exposure.

Requirements

Be a current college student.
Strong computer skills are required to quickly learn our multiple systems.
Effective communicator.
Excellent customer service skills.
Team focused.
Must be detail oriented and willing to ask questions.
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time, permanent basis.
Not seeking candidates that need any type of immigration sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

Agriculture related experience.
Go-getter with high initiative.
Positive attitude.
Agricultural, business or insurance major preferred.
A quick learner who is looking to learn new concepts and ideas.
Able to learn basic understanding of property insurance policies.
Familiarity with Outlook, Microsoft Word and Excel is preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist the Ag Underwriting team by reviewing current Ag policies.
Prepare underwriting reports.
Complete policy review tasks.
Update underwriting documents.
Assist with other projects as needed.
Leave a lasting impression on the Farm Bureau customer service experience.
Participate in corporate activities designed to provide exposure to the industry, organization, and culture.
