About The Position

MSIG USA is seeking curious, motivated, and analytical interns to join its underwriting team and gain hands-on exposure to Political Risk insurance products. The intern will learn about risk assessment, policy management, and underwriting decisions while working with experienced underwriters and colleagues across claims, legal, and finance. The program runs from June 7, 2027, through August 13, 2027, and includes a three-day induction in Warren, New Jersey, from June 7 through June 9. The role follows a hybrid schedule with a minimum of four days in the office per week and pays $25.00 per hour.

Requirements

• Pursuing a degree and/or having a strong interest in Risk Management, Political Risk, International Relations, Business, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an interest in understanding financial data.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Eagerness to learn and tackle challenges.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Assist in evaluating financial statements, credit reports, and industry trends to assess potential clients’ risk profiles.
• Support underwriting for new and renewal Political Risk insurance business, including determining coverage terms and conditions.
• Analyze reports and industry data to understand how political and financial insights influence underwriting strategies.
• Work with claims, legal, and finance teams to develop an understanding of underwriting challenges and solutions.
• Stay current with industry trends and build knowledge relevant to a career in underwriting.
