About The Position

The Underwriting Associate reviews and analyzes policy submissions and updates, along with transactions from agents and policyholders. This role handles requested policy transactions accurately and promptly in accordance with underwriting guidelines and procedures. The associate communicates with agents and policyholders about policy changes, rates, and underwriting procedures, and serves as a subject matter expert in resolving issues with policy issuance, policy updates, and policy rating.

Requirements

• Superior customer service skills.
• Above-average knowledge of math calculations.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in operating a computer, calculator, telephone, and fax machine.
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze policy submissions and updates, and agents' and policyholders' transactions.
• Handle requested policy transactions accurately and in a timely manner, consistent with underwriting guidelines and procedures.
• Communicate with agents and policyholders regarding policy changes, rates, and underwriting procedures.
• Serve as a subject matter expert to resolve problems with policy issuance, policy updates, and policy rating.
