Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program (Business, Finance, Commerce, or related field preferred).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Effective communication skills and willingness to collaborate with a team.
  • Eagerness to learn and develop knowledge of the insurance industry.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Familiarity with data systems is an asset (e.g., Guidewire PolicyCenter).

Responsibilities

  • Assist Account Executives with new business and renewal activities by gathering and organizing account information for underwriting review and quoting.
  • Support the preparation of reports and documentation required to assess and process policies.
  • Help process transactions within internal systems, including new business submissions, renewals, policy changes, and cancellations, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Maintain accurate underwriting documentation and update account information in internal systems in accordance with established standards.
  • Monitor team inboxes and workflow queues, assisting with task tracking and follow-ups.
  • Support timely servicing of accounts to meet internal and external service expectations.
  • Communicate with internal teams and assist with responding to basic broker or customer inquiries, escalating as needed.
  • Assist with quoting activities within established guidelines and supported supervision.
  • Provide administrative support, including data entry and file maintenance.
  • Participate in team projects and assignments as required.
  • Actively learn about underwriting processes and Financial Lines products through training and on-the-job experience.

  • Hourly compensation starts at $22.50 per hour and will increase based on factors including but not limited to, skills, education, experience, and the recommended rates as set by the respective educational institution.
