This is a co-op/intern placement for Fall 2026, lasting 4 months. Requirements

  • Strong computer skills, including typing proficiency and comfort navigating multiple systems.
  • High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality of work.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with a professional and collaborative approach.
  • Demonstrated initiative, reliability, and a willingness to learn and grow.
  • High school diploma required.
  • Successful clearance of a background check (including criminal checks and leadership references).

Nice To Haves

  • Post-secondary education is considered an asset.
  • Progress toward a Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation is an asset.
  • Previous experience in the insurance industry is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and operational support throughout the underwriting process, including data entry, report ordering, and maintaining policy information within internal systems.
  • Partner with colleagues across the Commercial Underwriting team to ensure tasks are completed accurately, efficiently, and in a timely manner.
  • Support service level commitments by consistently meeting quality, accuracy, and productivity expectations.
  • Develop a strong understanding of underwriting guidelines, workflows, and internal processes to complete work with confidence and precision.
  • Assist with general administrative duties and contribute to ad hoc projects and team initiatives as required.

  • Hourly compensation starts at $22.50 per hour and will increase based on factors including but not limited to, skills, education, experience, and the recommended rates as set by the respective educational institution.
