About The Position

The UNDERWRITING ASSISTANT is responsible for providing administrative support to the Underwriting team, including monitoring email correspondence, and completing administrative tasks to expedite the underwriting process.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED (Required)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Required)
  • Mastery of the English language, both written and verbal.
  • Strong attention to detail, is dependable and follows through.
  • Ability to read and interpret information.
  • High level of maturity to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
  • Strong work ethic and excellent time management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with people throughout the organization.
  • Willingness to maintain a professional appearance and provide a positive company image.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year minimum industry experience (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes submissions.
  • Prices and sells the program internally and externally.
  • Utilizes technology to compute rates and premiums for all endorsements and cancellations, verifies and transmits information and monitors renewals.
  • Gathers and investigates background information to effectively assess the risk involved and assist the underwriting team.
  • Services all accounts, including resolving agents’ inquiries, complaints, requests and policy processing.
