About The Position

The Underwriting Analyst supports underwriting activities for Starr’s Energy Casualty portfolio. The role assists with risk evaluation, rating, quoting, pre-underwriting, account servicing, renewals, and coordination with brokers and internal teams.

Requirements

• Basic understanding of insurance products.
• Ability to handle tasks independently.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize in a team environment.
• Strong computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with risk evaluation, rating, and quoting for General Liability (GL), Auto, Excess (XS), and Workers’ Compensation (WC) lines of business.
• Pre-underwrite new business by conducting loss analysis and gathering information, including MVRs and D&B reports.
• Assist underwriters with issuing quotations, processing and booking invoices, preparing binders, and setting up files.
• Support the renewal process by collecting renewal information and preparing renewal submissions for the underwriter.
• Provide interim service on bound accounts and participate in the self-audit process.
• Respond to brokers’ questions and troubleshoot issues in a timely manner.
• Provide information and problem-solving support to the team in coordination with accounting, operations, TPAs, and the claims department.
