About The Position

EMI Health is looking for an Underwriting Analyst Intern to join our team in Murray. This internship is a great opportunity for a college student or recent graduate interested in underwriting, analytics, or the health insurance industry. You’ll gain hands on experience, work with experienced professionals, and help support real business projects in a collaborative environment. This internship is expected to last up to 6 months.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in progress or completed in actuarial science, statistics, mathematics, business, or a related field
• Strong computer skills and Microsoft Excel experience preferred
• Knowledge of computer programming is a plus
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Self-motivated with strong time management skills

Responsibilities

• Review individual and group insurance applications
• Use rating models to enter and analyze financial risk information
• Review client information for new and existing business
• Communicate with internal teams and clients regarding insurance quotes
• Prepare and review underwriting and actuarial reports
• Assist with additional underwriting and analytical projects as needed
