About The Position

The Underwriter, Structured Finance is responsible for underwriting complex credit facilities in a manner which achieves Arbor’s profitability goals while remaining within set risk parameters. This position affords the opportunity to work closely with our Senior Credit team and Originators on the structuring and underwriting of transactions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Finance or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 4 to 6 years of related experience. Underwriting, credit analysis, or real estate valuation preferred
  • Strong credit skills evidenced by ability to quickly evaluate strengths and weaknesses of a variety of transactions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are critical to success
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Able to work independently
  • Proactive and flexible to changing situational requirements
  • Up to 30% Travel

Responsibilities

  • Perform financial analysis and underwriting, including statement spreading, risk assessment, projections and sensitivity analysis, industry and management assessments, collateral analysis and completion of credit approval documents
  • Review and analyze financial statements, tax returns and cash flow statements of borrowers and guarantors
  • Interface with credit, portfolio, operations and product specialist personnel, as required, to facilitate the underwriting, closing, and transition of prospects to portfolio management
  • Engage outside parties for collateral reviews, appraisals, background checks, and accounting due diligence, as necessary
  • Perform on-site due diligence through property inspections

  • The starting base salary range for this position is $110,000 to $140,000.
  • The specific compensation that will be offered is based on an understanding of the hired candidates' qualifications at the time of hire.
  • Employees are eligible for a discretionary bonus based on employee work performance reviewed during the course of the year.
  • The total compensation package for this position will also include other elements, a full range of medical, and/or other benefits including 401(k) eligibility and paid time off benefits.
