About The Position

BrokerLink is seeking an Underwriter II, Commercial Lines, to join their growing team. This individual will be responsible for underwriting and managing a portfolio of business, evaluating and pricing risks within established program guidelines and authority limits. The role involves applying consistent underwriting strategies to drive profitable growth, quoting, negotiating, and binding new business, renewals, and endorsements with a focus on scalability and operational efficiency. The Underwriter II will also build and maintain strong relationships with insurers, clients, and key stakeholders, collaborate with internal teams, and ensure underwriting discipline and compliance with program rules and regulatory requirements. Contributions to program development, including product design and pricing strategies, are also expected. The role requires utilizing internal systems for policy inquiries, electronic filing, underwriting, and rating transactions, with some travel anticipated. Requirements

  • Minimum 3+ years of commercial brokering or underwriting experience (program business is strongly preferred)
  • RIBO licensed required
  • Completion of CIP designation (or progress towards) is an asset
  • Strong team player with a collaborative mindset
  • Proven ability to mentor, coach, and support team members
  • Strong relationship management skills with clients, insurers, and stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience in client management, including handling inquiries, resolving issues, and supporting retention
  • Great communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Ability to manage high-volume workflows while maintaining accuracy and service standards
  • Strong analytical and technical experience
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
