About The Position

This posting is for two temporary full-time positions for 12 months. The Opportunity You’ve always had a knack for evaluating a situation and arriving at the right solution. Working closely with other underwriters and agency advisors, you’ll be responsible for adhering to underwriting guidelines, procedures and regulations. Requirements

  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-3 years of experience in an insurance-related role is considered an asset.

Nice To Haves

  • Related post-secondary education and/or industry certifications like a CIP designation.
  • Experience with AI-powered tools like ChatGPT, Copilot, and similar platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Adhering to underwriting guidelines, procedures and regulations.
  • Balancing member needs with business objectives to ensure profitable growth and underwriting excellence.
  • Making informed risk selection decisions using sound judgment and reasoning.
  • Verifying policy transactions and making necessary adjustments immediately.
  • Effectively communicating with Agency and members.
  • Identifying and obtaining additional information required to conduct a proper risk analysis.
  • Delivering service that supports the TYLF (Treat You Like Friends & Family) culture, while ensuring underwriting integrity.
  • Communicating decisions in an empathetic and professional manner.
  • Working collaboratively with Underwriting teams, Claims, Agency and other internal departments to improve relations and achieve common goals.
  • Providing prompt, consistent and exceptional service.
  • Confidently responding to and resolving inquiries.
