In this role, you will evaluate new and renewal loan requests, ensuring strong credit quality while helping business partners structure solutions for clients. Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Finance, Business, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 2+ years of experience in small business underwriting or credit analysis

Nice To Haves

  • 4+ years of small business underwriting or credit analysis experience in a centralized underwriting environment

Responsibilities

  • Review and approve new and renewal small business credit requests within assigned lending authority to ensure compliance with credit policy and regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze financial information, collateral coverage, and cash flow to assess credit risk and determine appropriate loan structures.
  • Verify the accuracy of loan documentation, coding, rates, and policy exceptions while ensuring proper mitigation strategies are in place.
  • Partner with Small Business Banking, Community Markets, Private Banking, and Retail leaders to support sales opportunities and deliver timely credit decisions.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to Branch Managers, Virtual Relationship Managers, and Small Business Relationship Managers on credit policy and loan structuring.
  • Monitor portfolio quality by maintaining accurate Probability of Default (PD) ratings and identifying emerging credit risks.
  • Serve as a resource on Small Business Loan Policy and collaborate with internal partners to resolve underwriting issues and improve processes.
