About The Position

This role focuses on ensuring safe work practices and efficient operation of machinery within an underground mining environment. The operator will be responsible for adhering to safety procedures, maintaining a high standard of housekeeping, and complying with all company policies and legislation. Key duties include performing pre- and post-operational checks, operating machinery efficiently and safely, respecting temporary signage and regulations, operating dewatering equipment, and performing lock-out/tag-out procedures. The position also emphasizes teamwork, clear communication, and proactive hazard identification, requiring the operator to be punctual and undertake other lawful instructions.

  • Ability to ensure safe work systems/procedures are always practised and adhered to.
  • Ability to maintain exemplary standard of housekeeping, safe work, incident/accident reporting & active involvement in safety initiatives.
  • Ability to abide by and proactively comply with Company policies, procedures, guidelines, and systems, as well as all relevant legislation.
  • Ability to understand and familiarise oneself with site Emergency evacuation procedures.
