About The Position

This role is responsible for ensuring safe work systems and procedures are practiced and adhered to, maintaining an exemplary standard of housekeeping, and complying with company policies and legislation. The position involves operating LHD (Load, Haul, Dump) machinery, performing pre-operational and post-operational checks, and ensuring efficient operation of trucks by separating different material types (ore, low grade, marginal, and waste). The operator will also be responsible for cleaning and preparing faces for the next cycle, maintaining clear roads in working areas, and adhering to lock-out and tag-out procedures. The role requires teamwork, collaboration, and the ability to follow instructions and prioritize tasks effectively.

Requirements

Ability to perform pre-operational and post-operational checks.
Ability to safely operate LHD and demonstrate good mucking practices.
Ability to scoop development headings and stockpiles to trucks.
Ability to keep trucks operating at full efficiency ensuring all ore, low grade, marginal and waste are kept separate.
Ability to scoop out and clean faces ensuring it is left acceptable for next cycle.
Ability to keep all roads in working areas clean and free from potential hazards.
Knowledge of lock-out and tag out procedures as per regulatory bodies and company policy.
Ability to work collaboratively with others to achieve organizational goals.
Ability to leverage the talent and knowledge within the team to resolve problems.
Ability to follow instructions as per SOPs, guidelines and those provided by the shift supervisor.
Ability to prioritise and complete tasks accurately as to specifications as assigned by direct supervisor within required timeframes.
Ability to proactively identify and address hazards before they arise as issues.
Punctuality to work and all required site meetings.
Ability to undertake other duties as lawfully instructed.
