About The Position

Eldorado Gold Saskatchewan | Foran (TSX:ELD) is seeking an Underground Trainer to join their growing McIlvenna Bay team. This is a full-time position based at the McIlvenna Bay site working a 14/14 rotation. Eldorado Gold Saskatchewan | Foran is advancing the McIlvenna Bay project, a cornerstone asset and one of the most significant copper development projects in Canada, with commercial production expected in mid-2026. This world-class deposit contains copper, zinc, gold, and silver – key metals for the global transition to green energy. As part of the Health & Safety Team, the Underground Trainer's primary responsibility is to assist the Training Coordinator in the design and delivery of comprehensive training programs for employees, contractors, and stakeholders. This role involves developing engaging training materials, conducting interactive training sessions, and evaluating the effectiveness of the training programs. The trainer will collaborate closely with different departments to identify training needs, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and foster proactive safety practices.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in training, leadership, organization, and communication.
  • Minimum 5 years of underground mining experience.
  • Strong knowledge of key mining tasks, including drilling, blasting, mucking, construction, and equipment operation.
  • Commitment to health and safety standards.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of Saskatchewan health, safety, and mining regulations.
  • Team-oriented, self-motivated, and enthusiastic.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Legally able to work in Canada.
  • Successfully complete a pre-employment medical assessment, which includes drug and alcohol testing, as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging training to employees, contractors, and stakeholders across all levels.
  • Teach hazard identification, risk assessment, and safe work procedures.
  • Train and assess equipment operator competency.
  • Deliver Underground Mine Orientation.
  • Support emergency response training, including evacuation and first aid.
  • Provide training on safe operation and maintenance of equipment.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness through assessments and feedback.
  • Maintain accurate training and attendance records.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture and reporting.
  • Identify and implement improvements to training and safety practices.
