About The Position

Park Paving Ltd. has been locally owned and operated for over 50 years as one of the largest road construction contractors in Edmonton, and we are looking for three EXPERIENCED TOPMAN / TOPWOMAN to join our CIVIL UNDERGROUND DIVISION. This position is a full-time seasonal role and offers competitive wage with benefits. Successful candidates will thrive in a physically demanding, highly productive, and high-pressure environment. Successful candidates must have a driving record free of major infractions, and must pass a medical/fitness exam, as conditions of employment. Requirements

Valid Class 5 Driver's license
Able to work outside in all weather conditions
Willingness to work around live sanitary and storm sewers as needed
Able to work Monday -Friday and when necessary overtime & weekends
Must have a driving record free of major infractions
Must pass a medical/fitness exam

Nice To Haves

Valid Ground Disturbance 201 Standard training (Alberta) is an asset
Valid Confined Space Monitor/Entry training is an asset

Responsibilities

Strong working-knowledge of pipe lasers, transits. An understanding of proper bedding placement and pipe securement
Ability to evaluate and adjust work plan based on ground conditions
Ability to understands grades, general survey, and drawings
Understand and implements proper rigging techniques onsite
Have full understanding and compliance with City specification for the tasks you are completing
Perform hole coring on structures.
Set up core elevations on structures based on field measurements. In addition set up track lines, center lines, and hubs
Monitoring of ground conditions and safely guide operators around utilities
Assist in work planning which includes forecasting work tasks and prepping materials in advance
Assist with crew supervision as directed
Willingness to assist in various labour activities required such as setting up chains for rigging, operating small equipment, and installing precast structures
Assist in equipment pre/post trip inspections and general maintenance
