About The Position
Nevada Gold Mines is hiring an Underground Trainee, Tech 2 or higher, to join its Underground Operations teams at Leeville. The role involves safely operating hand, powered, or mobile equipment to support site production goals, while following company policies and applicable health and safety regulations. Employees must work a rotating schedule of days and nights. The listed duties are representative and may not include every assigned task.
Requirements
- Tech 2 or higher.
- Meet the required skills threshold: 8 of the 11 listed skill areas are required; trucking and utilities are mandatory.
- Demonstrate haul truck operation skills, including heading inspection, pre-operational checks, dust suppression, safe muck loading and dumping, and safe ramp travel around traffic and pedestrians.
- Comply with Loss Control (HSLP), environmental, and Nevada Gold Mines policies and procedures.
- Comply with state and federal health and safety regulations.
- Demonstrate teamwork and safe work practices.
- Perform pre-operational inspections on equipment and machinery before use.
Nice To Haves
- Rockbreaker operation is optional at Leeville.
- Slickline operation is optional.
Responsibilities

- Demonstrate teamwork and safe work practices.
- Perform assigned underground tasks across the listed skill areas, including haul truck operation, backfilling, conveyor operation, water truck operation, dewatering, wash bay operation, utilities, and nipper work.
- Work a rotating schedule of nights and days.
