About The Position

Nevada Gold Mines is hiring a Welder for its Process Maintenance team. The Welder/Process Fabrication Technician performs welding, fabrication, layout, and repair work in support of site operations. The position uses a variety of welding processes, fabrication techniques, drawings, and shop equipment to safely produce quality components and repairs.

Requirements

• Demonstrated welding and fabrication skills appropriate to the assigned level.
• Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and blueprints.
• Knowledge of structural and pipe fabrication, layout, and welding practices.
• Ability to safely operate welding, cutting, forming, and fabrication equipment.
• Ability to meet applicable welding qualification requirements.
• Basic computer skills for work-management and material-requisition systems.
• Strong commitment to safety, quality, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural and pipe welding, fabrication, and repair work.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, measurements, and specifications.
• Lay out and fabricate structural steel, pipe configurations, fittings, and transitions.
• Perform SMAW, MIG, and TIG welding using applicable materials and procedures.
• Set up and operate plasma cutting and automated shape-cutting equipment.
• Safely operate fabrication equipment including presses, brake press, shear, ironworker, band saw, and drill press.
• Inspect completed work for dimensional accuracy, weld quality, and conformance to requirements.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and serviceable condition.
• Complete required work orders, material requisitions, and related documentation.
• Work collaboratively with other crews and departments to complete work safely and efficiently.
• Identify problems and contribute practical solutions that improve safety, quality, and productivity.
