Underground Plumbing Technician
About The Position
Frank Gay Commercial Services is hiring an experienced Commercial Underground Plumbing Technician for work in Central Florida, with opportunities also available in Melbourne, Daytona Beach, and surrounding areas. The role involves installing, inspecting, repairing, troubleshooting, and maintaining underground plumbing and piping systems, as well as storm drainage, water and sewer lines, pumps, and lift stations. Work also includes fire hydrant repairs and replacements, commercial new-construction buildouts, and above-ground rough-in and finishing projects. The position offers compensation of $25–$30 per hour, a sign-on bonus incentive, training, and opportunities for career growth.
Requirements
- Minimum 5–10 years of experience in underground service plumbing or as an Underground Specialty Plumber.
- Technical skill and knowledge of underground piping systems, outside storm drains, and water mains.
- Experience with mechanical fittings, including MJ fittings.
- Experience with commercial new-construction buildouts.
- Experience with above-ground rough-in and finishing work.
- CLD licensing for an excavator and excavator experience.
- Experience with fire hydrant replacement.
- Lift station experience.
- Underground pipelaying experience.
- Knowledge of working with and maintaining National Accounts.
- Good communication and listening skills.
- Must pass a drug screen, MVR, and background check.
- Physical dexterity.
- Clean driver's license; a clean CLD driver's license is specified in the qualifications.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, install, repair, and maintain underground plumbing systems, including outside storm water mains, pumps, and underground water and sewer lines, in compliance with applicable codes.
- Inspect and repair vents, storm drainage, and special piping systems.
- Install, repair, and maintain pumps for lift stations.
- Repair, troubleshoot, and diagnose underground systems and outside storm water mains.
- Perform service, installation, and maintenance work on underground piping and pipelaying.
- Repair, install, and replace fire hydrants.
- Operate a CLD excavator.
- Work on new-construction commercial buildout projects.
- Work on above-ground rough-in and finishing projects.
- Maintain and work with National Accounts.
