About The Position

Spartan Emergency Response (Spartan ER), part of Terex Corporation, designs, manufactures, and distributes custom emergency response vehicles, cabs, and chassis. The Plumbing Technician role at Specialty Vehicles involves preparing, bending, joining, assembling, and installing pipes and plumbing components, then testing pipe systems for leaks. The work may take place in non-temperature-controlled environments and requires regular physical activity, including lifting and climbing.

Requirements

Preferred 1–2 years of plumbing experience.
Ability to read and understand plumbing drawings within the first 90 days of employment.
Ability to read and use a tape measure for precise measurements.
Ability to use common hand tools and power tools, such as drills and screw guns.
Ability to communicate professionally and follow directions.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Successful completion of drug and background screening.
Ability to regularly lift and move 40 pounds without assistance.
Ability to work with arms above head.
Ability to operate and understand the operation of protective safety equipment in the area.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED preferred.
1–2 years of plumbing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Cut and thread pipes using pipe cutters, a cutting torch, and a pipe-threading machine.
Bend pipes to required angles using a pipe-bending machine or by hand.
Join pipes using screws, bolts, fittings, solder, plastic solvent, and caulk joints.
Assemble and install valves, pipe fittings, and pipes.
Fill pipe systems with water or air and read pressure gauges to check for system leaks.
