About The Position

Ameritrace is hiring an entry-level Underground Pipeline Locator in George West, Texas, serving Encinal, Tilden, Kenedy, Yoakum, and surrounding areas. This full-time role offers on-the-job training in damage prevention and utility line locating, with starting pay of $20.00–$24.00 per hour and opportunities for growth.

Locators travel to outdoor locations such as fields and neighborhoods to identify buried cables and pipes using equipment such as EM locators. They mark utility locations using the color-code system, document their work, and follow safety policies to help protect crews and infrastructure during excavation projects. Candidates must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.

Requirements

• At least 18 years old.
• Eagerness to learn and readiness to work.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Reliable work performance.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening test.

Responsibilities

• Locate buried cables and pipes at outdoor sites using EM locators.
• Accurately mark utility line locations using the color-code system.
• Maintain detailed reports of locating work.
• Follow safety policies to protect crew members and infrastructure.
• Travel throughout the assigned service area.
